This page explains what Invisible LLC ("Invisible," "we") collects on this website, what we do with it, and how to get it removed. It is written in plain language on purpose.

If you use our client portal at clients.weareinvisiblellc.com, that service has its own privacy notice, and it governs there.

What we collect

When you use the estimate form. Your name, email address, business name, your phone number if you give us one, and your answers about your annual revenue, how your books are kept, and whether you need payroll.

When you use the bookkeeping cost estimator. Your email address and your three answers — revenue, cash or accrual books, payroll.

When you download a checklist. Your email address, and the checklist you asked for.

How you found us. If you arrive from a link we tagged — a post, a partner's note, a search result — the tags in that link (what are called UTM tags) and the website you came from are recorded with your submission. That tells us which of those is worth doing again.

When you book a call. Your name, your email address and the time you picked, on Jeff's calendar.

Links you click in our emails. When you click a link in an email we sent you, we record which kind of link it was (the link to book a call, for example) and when. We don't record whether you opened an email.

How the site is used. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to see which pages people read and which ones they leave. These set cookies in your browser and collect the usual technical details: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and whether you clicked certain buttons. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely.

When you send us a form, we keep with it the random number Google Analytics gave your browser. Later, if you book a call or become a client, we tell Google Analytics that step against that number, so we can see which pages lead to clients. Google gets the number and the step, never your name, email or business.

We do not ask for financial account credentials, bank data, or documents anywhere on this website.

How we use it

  • To answer you, and to prepare your estimate.
  • To send the follow-up emails described below.
  • To keep track of where things stand with you: whether we've spoken, sent you a proposal, or started working together.
  • To understand which pages and which links bring people to us, so we can improve the site.

That is the whole list. We don't use it to build a profile of you, and we don't use it for advertising.

Emails, and how to stop them

If you use the estimate form or the cost estimator, we email you your estimate. After either one, Jeff follows up a few times by email — a short sequence, from a real person, that you can reply to.

If you download a checklist, we email you the checklist, then send up to two follow-ups from Jeff. If you ask for an estimate in the meantime, the follow-ups about the checklist stop.

Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it stops the emails. Replying and asking also works, and you'll get a human reading it.

Unsubscribing stops the marketing follow-ups. If you are a client, it does not stop the emails we need to send you to do your work.

Who else handles it

Amazon Web Services hosts this website, stores what the forms collect, and sends the emails we send you.

Google provides the analytics described above, and the calendar calls are booked on.

That's it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We will disclose information if the law requires it of us.

How long we keep it

Estimate details: up to 24 months after the last time we were in contact with you. After that we delete them, or strip them of anything that identifies you and keep only the aggregate counts.

Unsubscribe records: kept indefinitely, on purpose. If you tell us to stop emailing you, we need a permanent record of that in order to keep honoring it. That record is your email address and the fact that you unsubscribed — nothing else.

Analytics: retained by Google under the retention setting on our account, and it holds no name, email, or business name.

If you become a client, the records of our work for you are governed by our engagement with you and by our professional obligations, not by this page.

Security

Information submitted on this site travels over an encrypted connection and is stored in access-controlled Amazon Web Services accounts. Access is limited to the people at Invisible who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you promptly and as required by law.

Seeing or deleting your information

Email jeff@weareinvisiblellc.com and ask. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Say which, and give us the email address you used on the site so we can find it. We'll confirm when it's done.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we'll change this page and update the date at the top.
